Thickness … visually guides you to change your worldview, Zhu Jinshi
Zhu Jinshi's paintings are so thick they slide off the canvas. He applies paint with a trowel or a wok spatula. Rubell curator Juan Roselione-Valadez told us each panel weighed 2,000 lbs and you could see the the impact of gravity near the base of each painting. The canvas drooped, it was sagging from the burden of the paint.
