Summer at the Museum Part 1

Summer was also a good time to go to the museums, and the Art Institute of Chicago was always my favorite growing up in Chicago. I thought of the collection as 'mine' and got pretty bent out of shape when objects were moved. Anyway I was looking at their American collection this week and pulled out a few of the early modern works that helped me start thinking about painting as something more than mimesis.
