Dotty Attie's new show
The Lone Ranger just opened at
PPOW. Continuing with her small canvases grouped into a larger whole Attie takes on a popular heroic figure. Beginning with filmic images of the Lone Ranger, emphasized by the black and white palette in
The Lone Ranger, Attie deftly shifts to images of our hero combined with violent and erotic images in
Enthusiastic Fans. Using both language and image Attie continues to challenge our assumptions about gender, politics and culture.
