van der Helst's Militia
Here's one of the Bartholomeus van der Helst paintings I mentioned yesterday. Van der Helst included himself, he's the guy all the way to left but I get distracted by the sameness of the men in these painting, maybe they're all cousins. But when I started looking at the people looking at the painting it made me realize van der Helst wasn't too far off. I took the last detail here because the ground that the figures stand upon reminded me of the water in van Gogh's Courtesan: after Eisen painted 244 years later.
