Portraits - Napoleon
Jaques-Louis David had only a couple of hours to capture a likeness of Napoleon, he was notoriously fidgety. This unfinished study was used for several paintings of enshrining the story of Napoleon crossing the Alps but is considered to bear only a minimal likeness. There are two versions of the Alps paintings below. While Napoleon doesn't change the modifications to the horse and background are substantial.
